RuPaul’s Drag Race season 4 Launch Spot – Director’s Cut
For the 4th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race we had to go BEYOND! So we decided that RuPaul would be a mad scientist and create the contestants in a crazy drag laboratory. Inspiration included 2001: A Space Odyssey, Barbarella, the old Batman series, Metropolis, Star Trek, Gareth Pugh, Andromeda Strain (1971), Lost, Bjork’s “All Is Full of Love” video, Michael & Janet Jackson’s “Scream” video, and a little Fantasia thrown in there for good measure.
I wrote, directed, produced and edited the launch campaign. This is the director’s cut of the launch spot, which ran online only.
